Lida Varvaroussi knows how to reach children by her pictures and verses.  She uses her painting palette to give life to her tales.  Her pictures are attractive, bright and full of charm, reflecting vividness and spontaneity.

She has been writing and illustrating her own books for children since 1996.  Her series “Crazybites”, numbering ten books in total, has become extremely popular among preschool children.

She is talented in creating characters of strong personality. The Little triangle-fish she created for Vangelis Heliopoulos’ story in 1996 has quickly become a recognizable and beloved literary hero, a phenomenal best seller case by local national standards.

In 2006 she participated in the Athens Cow Parade, selected by “Coca Cola” who sponsored her cow.

In May 2007 her work was honoured with the South-East European literature award for illustration.
